AndreaWan is a Visual Artist and illustrator based Berlin.
Born in Hongkong, and raised in Vancouver BC, Andrea Wan graduated from Emily Carr University where she received a degree in Film, Video and Integrated Media. With a strong passion in storytelling and image making, Andrea Wan went on to study illustration and design at Designskolen Kolding, Denmark.
Andrea Wan draws animals, people, ghosts and emotional landscapes, using acrylic ink to make her illustrations.
The work of Andrea Wan evolve in a surrealistic, fantasy and introspective style. As the spectator found himself stuck in a strange dream… Each of her illustrations registers as a new page in her personal visual diary, trying to stay coherent between her personal works and her orders from various magazines she collaborates with.
Occasionnally, Andrea Wan also draws nice murals. She has already left her mark in Geneva (Switzerland) and Hawaii.
Andrea Wan has produced a lot of exhibitions in Vancouver, the city where she grew up, San Francisco and Los Angeles before expanding her reputation in Europe, mainly with her solo exhibtion Pen Pals at Idrawalot Gallery last year in Berlin and another one, Night Travellers at Galeria Cosmo in Barcelona. Consecration came with her participation to the last edition of Pictoplasma, the festival dedicated to little monsters. After having contributed to a lot of collective exhibitions in Europe, her latest stunt in 2013 was her interest to Pow Wow Hawaii Festival.
The works of Andrea Wan was published in the book 3×3 Illustration Annual, Creative Quarterly, as well as famous international magazines (New York Times, The North American Review, Computer Arts Magazine…).
Sergeant Paper has been working for several years with Andrea Wan, distributing her limited edition, signed and numbered Giclee Prints.
